E/One PreSTAT Premieres at WEFTEC 2000

New Asset Management Tool Delivers
Optimum Life-Cycle Value for Networked Sewers

Anaheim, Ca. - PreSTAT, the first of a new generation of Predictive Status monitors for networked sewer systems, was launched at the Water Environment Federation Technology Exposition and Conference (WEFTEC 2000) this last week. Michael Clute, Environment One Corporation's (E/One) president, pledged the PreSTAT promise to "optimize the life-cycle value of our client communities' E/One Sewer investments."

E/One is the originator and leading manufacturer of gravity-independent pressure sewer systems, designed for residential sewering of geotechnically challenging terrain, a technique employing progressing-cavity grinder pumps which E/One has developed and refined successfully, for over 30 years, as a spin-off of General Electric's Center for Research and Development. E/One Sewers now are deployed by existing utility districts, as well as builders and developers all over North America, Scandinavia and Japan, wherever there is extremely flat, wet, rocky, or hilly sitework.

Based on the fact that a predictive maintenance approach delivers the lowest operation and maintenance costs, along with the highest quality, most reliable service, PreSTAT delivers a new order of system transparency for E/One online homeowners. E/One Sewers already offer the longest service cycles in the industry (8-10 years, according to third-party documentation) with no preventive maintenance, and now the system will call itself in before a service breach, allowing seamless service continuity to the homeowner. Considering the fact that highly reliable E/One Sewers are typically installed for less than half the cost of gravity central sewers, the value proposition to the community is most impressive. PreSTAT also offers a fully customizable feature range, which delivers system operators a choice in software from basic, local pre-alarm status indicators to fully automatic, remote central PC-monitoring telemetry packages.

"Predictive Maintenance for Public Works is the course that is being set via new 'Value Based Procurement' protocols that will alter the way infrastructure purchases are made for our small communities throughout the country, as increased emphasis on Total Life Cycle system costing takes the front seat in planning and funding concerns," says Mike Clute, "the old 20th century methods of preventive maintenance are fading out as appropriate predictive technology solutions prove to be more cash-flow viable. E/One has totally eliminated the costly 'preventive' scheme and is dedicated to serving the Wastewater Industry in a leadership role in the Predictive Maintenance/Condition Monitoring arena, as it has for the Electric Power Generation Industry since 1969. The 'Predictive' focus on the Wastewater side of our business is a natural for E/One's core competencies, and our E/One Sewer community partners will enjoy the benefits of total system reliability for decades to come."
