Niskayuna, New York - 17 September, 2002 - PCC Flow Technologies of Houston, Texas, has announced the appointment of Philip W. Welsh to the position of president of Environment One Corporation (E/One), effective September 16, 2002. Mr. Welsh replaced Mike Stepanovich, who was promoted to the position of vice president and general manager of PACO Pumps, a PCC Flow Products company in Brookshire, Texas.
Wayne Robbins, PCC Flow Technologies' president, said, "Philip's demonstrated knowledge of the business and his leadership will allow for a smooth transition for the continuing growth plans at this important business segment of PCC Flow Technologies."
Environment One has been growing aggressively for the past several years through the Detection Systems and Sewer Systems businesses. Mr. Welsh expects to lead E/One toward even greater optimization of international market opportunities, as well as increased coverage of discrete domestic market segments. E/One is currently building to double its existing factory space in Niskayuna in order to meet increasing capacity demands.
Mr. Welsh received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Penn State University and earned his MBA at California State University in 1987. Prior to joining E/One in 1992 as manager of Financial Reporting, he worked in southern California for KOBE Inc. and Hughes Aircraft Company in various financial postitions. With extensive experience in cost accounting and financial planning, he quickly took on increasing responsibility in the finance arena and was promoted to director of Finance in 1994. Mr. Welsh's distinct savvy at marketing, as well as fiscal clarity, was recognized both by his peers and management during this era, and he was promoted to vice president - chief financial officer in early 1998; the Company was subsequently acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. later that year.
